Chicago Public Schools Social & Emotional Learning Cross Schools Expo (Olive Harvey College)
Schedule: In order to allow participants and exhibitors to visit exhibits and attend workshops, the schedule will be as follows--
8:30 - registration and breakfast
9:00 - opening remarks in auditorium
9:30-10:15 - designated exhibition time
10:30-11:15 - first workshop block
11:30-12:30 - lunch
12:30-1:15 - designated exhibition time
1:30-2:15 - second workshop block
2:30 - closing remarks, raffle prizes, and evaluations

 This year’s conference will feature engaging workshops covering the topics of health and fitness, youth violence, healthy relationships, and sexuality.
 
Girls’ Health and Science Day
Friday, May 23, 2014
8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
University of Chicago – School of Social Administration

Project Exploration:
·         Invites you to bring up to 30 girls in grades 7 – 10.
·         Offers free registration for the event.
·         Will provide lunch for all attendees.
·         Offers partial payment, up to$125.00, for student transportation to and from the conference site.  Please arrange with your preferred bus company and send a copy of the invoice. 
 
To participate in Girls’ Health and Science Day:
·         Students must be accompanied by at least one adult chaperone.
·         Participants’ names must be provided in advance.
 
In addition to the workshops for girls, we will once again be offering an Adult Track designed to provide training and information about issues affecting our young girls today. The Adult Track will take place during the same time as the girls’ workshops. Lunch will be provided.
 
Included in this email, you will find:
·         Invitational flyers for students.
·         Participation roster due by Friday, May 9, 2014.
·         Intake packet due on field trip day for each participant, May 23.
·         An education guide to prepare your girls for Girls’ Health and Science Day.
·         Consent forms for teachers and students.
 
·            Slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.  Let me know if you have any questions or would like more information about Girls’ Health and Science Day.
